Ari Isaacson, MD

Dr. Ari Isaacson attended the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After graduating in 2004, he completed his internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. He then went on to become a flight surgeon in the US Navy, serving for 3 years including a deployment to Iraq with the Marines.

 

In 2008, Dr. Isaacson returned to medical training, completing his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of North Carolina and staying on for Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship. In 2013, he took a staff position as an Interventional Radiologist at UNC.

Over his 8 year tenure in Chapel Hill, Dr. Isaacson focused on clinical research serving as principal investigator on multiple clinical trials studying cutting-edge embolization techniques, such as prostatic artery embolization and genicular artery embolization for pain. He was named Director of Clinical Research and eventually Chief of Vascular Interventional Radiology.

 

In 2021, Dr. Isaacson departed UNC to become Medical Director of IR Centers at AUNC where he currently practices
